For as long as I can remember, I’ve been big — Big Dre. That’s what most call me. That’s what I answer to. That’s been my person.
I’m that classic former football player, who after his last game, started to balloon. I have a lineman’s mentality — I love to kick butt, but hate to run. And as the fat accumulated and muscle deteriorated, I’ve started to even hate walking. A long time ago, I decided that needed to change.
Only recently have I been very serious about it.
This journey was inspired by many people. It will help me to be a better family man. It will help me be a better friend and employee. I’m impressed by Shawn, who lost almost 150 pounds. I’m impressed by Hank, who is losing weight and giving back. I’m impressed by Drew, who went from fit to fat to show people how to get fit again. And there are many many more journeys I follow.
Like these people, I’ve seen it necessary to get healthy for obvious and not-so-obvious reasons.
• To live a long, healthy life and be here for my family
• To be able to play amateur sports without worry.
• To be free of or take minimal meds (diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, cholesterol).
• To preserve my sexy. 😉
